CBS is not interested in Star Trek the franchise, just as long as the name drop and association gets people to spend their money, that it. ST as a franchise is essentially dead. What CBS offers is Star Trek-like with "Starfleet" uniforms that's it, and they've basically said as much. The only official Trek, ironically, will come from fans from this point on.
