Title: What the...?
Post by: Trekker on January 29, 2003, 07:55:09 am
I was online, and I was in a Distress Call mission. Now, the freighter warped out, and I knew my little Saber wouldn't last much longer against the enemy ships. So I withdrew, and even though the freighter got away, I failed. Why is this?

The only way to complete the mission is for the freighter to escape and all the enemy ships to be destroyed.

Just the way that the mission is designed.

That is actually unfair. In Star Trek only Klingons would fight the sometimes overwelming number of pirate ships in a ff or cl. The point to a distress call is to come to the aid of a very lightly armed ship and help them fend off the attackers long enough to escape. It's quite a bad thing if you need at least a CA to destroy all the attacking ships, because you can't destroy them in your own frigate or destroyer.

True... I agree with you on this one. They should have maybe changed the missions for each race. Let the Klingons die an honorable death.
