Title: DirextX problem: Suddenly SFC3 won't run!

I've been running SFC3 with Directx 9.0a just fine for a while.  But then I didn't play for a while and recently installed the latest NVidia drivers for my Geforce2.  Yesterday though when I tried to run SFC3, I got the following error:

DirectX 8.1 not installed.  Please install DirectX 8.1 or later.

BOGUS!

Then my system crashes if I try to run any other games.

Is anyone else having any kind of trouble like this?

There was a directx 9 fix that was released a long time ago.  I think you can still download it at sfc3's official web page or sfc3files.com.  This should fix the problem that you are describing.
