Hmm... I *think* this ship has been brought up before on the OLD Forums. I want to say somebody did kitbash this but I'm not 100% sure. It wasn't exactly a high demand model at the time about 2 years ago (?)
Qapla!

Someone has made this ship, I don't know who, but if you go the New Ships Project site, I'll be you'll find it there.

It would have to be a Half Kitbash...as there are new components added(the nacelles, pylons, and interhull...also
possibly the impulse assembly and where it attaches to the saucer as well as possibly the bridge??? )

Thanks man...But that's a negative goodbuddy...
Also it woould be nice to see this variant come to fruition seeing as all the constitution class variants have
been popping out all over the place...yes???
BTW: the Ship is called the USS Peleliu when she was a federation frigate (no alien tech)...I believe
that she was renamed the USS Challenger...her Registry is NCC-1959

Yeah, but all you modelers have come a loooong way from then!
Why because of all your advances, even new modelers seem to just jump in and produce high quality AND low polygon models!
Why don't one of you guys try it on for size? The SFC world would wait with bated breath!
And, I don't care for the design as painted on the bookcover myself, but you guys have changed my mind many times just by the sheer beauty and quality of the models you come up with. This is not the first ten days after the release of SFC1 v. 1.001!
-
Cool looking ship, would be good to see it for SFC
Would make a good GSC
-
I think it would be a nice 3d design. I wouldn't mind seeing someone do this myself. You know that we're gonna see lots more Connie refits anyway. Why not something original, like this?
-
The pic is not showing up for me, could you fix it or email it?
-
Bump!!!
and here is a link to a larger pic I just found:

With the warp nacelle pylons swept away from the primary hull hard point mounts would begin to make sense on them with less limited arcs. This one could probably mount more phasers and maybe even a photon or two. Not sure what to make of the open space between the struts but the connie was never a very efficient use of volume with the long neck and narrow pylons anyway. The BSG made more sense technically for those reasons and I always felt it looked more "realistic." It wasn't until TMP that I began to like the connie though only marginally. Even then the reliant was more sound designwise. No wasted structure there.
-
I still can't see it.
-
Someones gotta do it. You can never have enough TMP ships

BTW. Azel. Been checking out your designs. Looking good bud, keep em comin

That's an interesting design...hope it modeled. Might help if there were some different shots of it, but there are some here who can figure it out and make it look great.

Hi Azel
You've done a great job I like it very much.
I have one suggestion the supporting pylons seem a little high the book Drawing seems to have the pylons located nearer the arboretum windows on the secondary hull. Keep up the fantastic work.

-
Atra, I don't know if this will help but can you check your forum preferences? Sometimes mine will set to not automatically display pictures if I call it up at work and reset the one at home as well.
-
THANKS ALOT GUYS!!!

I have a fairly big workload with real life and the Klingon fleet, but I'll offer up my Connie series textures for use/modification/kitbashing/references/etc. to anyone willing to apply paint to this pup. Just be sure to drop my name in the readme file where appropriate
-
*bump*
I guess everyone's pretty busy right now with all the projects that are going on. I hope someone can find the time for this though.
-
What still no bites????
-
Azel. Looks nice and fluffy indeed. If you can get some textures for it I could give it a go. I'm sort of between modelling/modding jobs at the moment (projects take so bloody long to make!!!). Anyway, give me a yell if your interested (although seeing some of the work in this community you should be able to find someone better).

If I remember my Story right, the engines are canablized from a Conestoga Class transport ship they are used to pulling
a ship with alot of mass since it was a colony transport ship. I wonder what that ship would look like I created a Development logo for the ship. I guess I'll have to develop some schematics to go with the logo.
-
Send it my way, I'll give it a shot. If nothing else, I can get something on there and someone can re-texture it, but I'll do as good a job as I can.

BUMP!!!
