Title: OT: Is it just me?...
Post by: Captain KoraH on September 12, 2003, 04:31:29 pm
... or is the new theme song for Enterprise more gay than Freddie Mercury?  Wife started dancing like "The Sound of Music" was on or something... I almost turned it off right then before the show even started.

Just think of it as one more nail in the coffin that'll seal Star Trek's fate for the forseeable future.

Gay or not...Freddie Mercury was quite an artist.  Qualitatively speaking, the Enterprise theme song is not "quite a song." unless we insert "bad' into the phrase.

New theme song?

(and I thought faith of the heart was bad...)

They went from bad to worse, IMO. It's still Faith of the Heart but with new intrumentals and an enhanced 'beat'. Only heard it once (and that was enough) fortunately there's the mute button.

Wow, who can i write to to thank them for stopping that godawful racket?
Seriously, though, I didn't even realize that they'd changed it. Thank the maker for the fast-forward button.

Its the B & B boys way of abandoning the Core fans and targeting a new specific audience. I  am happy to say I did'nt here it
as I have never seen 1 episode yet, though I watched once for 5 minutes.

i still like the ds9 theme song best.i havent got a tv with cable or sattelite and so i dont watch tv since 1.5 years.currently enterprise is running at prime time in tv,i might try to watch it one time at my sisters house to see it.
i really was dissapointed when i read and seen pix about the ship.i laughed and tried to imagine how the eartlings could create a small souvereign in early era.the ship looks more like advanced tng than the old ca which is superiour to the ship or?
ah yes and they showed klink d6? s in series as well or?damn klinks must have odd tech in ds9 and voy timeline lol.
ps.i get all my info off a big sience-fiction mag called "space-view" and sometimes from net.

Thankfully I heard it was only a temporary change because they didn't have time to complete the final version.

OT: Where did you get that thing in your sig?

Oh, my sig for the discerning online paranoid? Go  here and see for yourself. For those too paranoid to follow vague, user-posted links, you could also right-click on it and select "Properties" for the same info.

Your sig isn't quite "right" either. It's Netscape 7 now, not Netscape 5. thbt.

I know. It can be pretty vague itself. It just says that I'm running Windows, but there's no version number. Still, it's pretty creepy seeing the name of my litlle local ISP on there. I put it in my sig on 2 message boards in the last 2 days, and have gotten many comments on it. It was becoming a distraction on the other one, so I got rid of it there. Someone else had the "cunning" to get the info and go to the site to get one of his own. His has Star Trek-themed quotes on the bottom line of the sign, so I'll let him fly the banner there for now.

Jesus Mary and Joseph I hope that rumor turns out to be true. I don't think I can continue to watch a show that starts so gay tyhat I think I'm watching the Lifetime channel...

"And now, the continuation of the 'Men are Evil' marathon only on Lifetime, television for women."

I'm not sure how a song sounds gay. If it's not by Tom Robinson or Bronski Beat or from the book of "Rent", it's probably not gay.

Not that there'd be anything wrong with it if it was. Heck, those drab Enterprise quarters might well benefit from the "Queer Eye" folks. :-)

As for the Enterprise theme; wasn't it just the same song with a faster tempo?  I thought they were supposed to change to a new song?

Well, at first I would have agreed with you guys. It's awful. While before, you could just about stomach it, now its like a cheap sci-fi show where topless aliens go around asking random men to help them reach places with various excuses... like enterprise. DAMN.

Moving on, I found a single redeeming quality in this one. It runs the same number of notes, but in faster time, so the song is over about 4 seconds faster. w00t.

I hope to god they change it by next week.

"And now, taking a break from our 'Men are Evil' marathon on Lifetime, we bring you the new and improved Star Trek: Enterprise theme! We know you'll like this one much more than the old one, since you can sing along and dance while the opening title is playing! Without further ado, here is the new theme for Enterprise: 'Strenth of the Pretty Pink Hearts with Blue Bows and Peach Colored Ribbons!' Don't forget to smile and wave your hands back and forth like a chorus dancer!"

Dear god....

It's pretty damn bad, and it's a shame, since the show is getting better.

Nothing will ever beat Shatner's "Space, the final frontier..."

We had to know that this song would be bad when we saw that it's lyrics were written by Diane Warren, writer of sappy pop-ballads for the likes of Celine Dion
