Title: Pre-tos lyrans???????????? need some help here please??????

here is what i need help with

well i was designing the lyran ships as pre-tos based on the ldn from taldren then i run across the sfb ones
now do i keep going with mine and make new clan? as u see i already made change to one of the can logo
or go for the sfb ones?

Well, my personal preference is the SFB style. But that's a cool ship you got there. I really like how you've backward-extrapolated the stock Taldren design. I say finish it, and maybe try a SFB version later.

I too agree with Terradyne.

I think your designs here are superior to the exact SFB forms.

the yellow i think you right looking at that good tip never do textures after working nights

Yup, definitely make your own. This is primarily unchartered territory. Who knows, maybe you'll end up being the Jackill or Guenther of Pre-TOS with your designs.

You know, I acually like the yellow colro as it is DarkMatrix.

Okay, I can see what others are saying about your Lyrans looking like Caterpillars,
so I say why not capitalize on it. You could create new colors based on the suggestions of others AND keep your original yellow and slap on a Caterpillar logo was you have yourself a futuristic construction company. And they could own the company that makes the workbees. Caterpillars and bees. It works, don'tcha think?

And BTW, your designs are most cool!

ok i toned down the colour by 25% making it less yellow more of a brown/yellow now

also added the torp tube textures

and modeled a set of warpengines for the back of the dn sfb style ones
keep or loose them????

it looks strange seeing redish sorta purple manifolds...I dunno. These type of boxy lyrans are actualy why I hate their ships so much. Though I will say now that you've toned down the yellow they don't look like they've just been polished or like a toy or something.

redish sorta purple manifolds A:same as the starfleet battles lyrans kind of like them myself

Desty_Nova   has done the starfleet battle ones already so i dont see point of doing them over again as he done such a great job on them  i`m trying to make new clan myself for the lyran

also i like the boxy designs of the sfc lyrans dont ask me why they just sit right with me

DM, I think you should keep running with what you've got.  There's nothing wrong with the engines, they look just fine to me... and I actually prefer the brighter yelloe tone to the darker version (but my eyesight is now beginning to fade with age).

Well, apart from the yellow I like it very much (prefer the sand coloured Lyrans myself) although different county fleets often paint their ships different colours than the standard sand - several are grey, some have camo-schemes and the Night Star county even have black ships so I wouldn't worry about it, this could be a variation for this new county you've made. I like the extrapolation from the SFC DN but I would have dropped the bar that runs across the front, it just doesn't fit with the Lyran shape (they look like Lyres actually so it shows where the SFB artists got the name from)
