Fighter firing delays are non-existant for DisF, PhoF, and HellF. Fighters can fire these weapons immediately upon launch. Additionally, the reload period is very short, about 1 or 2 seconds.
The good news is that FusF is fixed somewhat (though it still reloads infinitely). It can fire after about 1/4 turn as expected. Missiles work ok (1/2 turn delay).
Did the beta-testers get a shot at 2.5.5.0? It doesn't seem so.
EAW handles these features well. It's too bad OP doesn't.
Oh well, it's just a game.

Yes, we did. I would have to go back and look, but I think our focus was narrowed a bit this time (don't quote me on that though) as there were/are other issues and possibilities at play that I cannot go into here.

1) Retaining lock on cloaking ships wrong - fixed.
2) Plasma D hitting ESGs
3) Fighters unable to fire heavies after 1/4 turn - fixed."
Seems a small list to me.
I suppose it doesn't matter. Only number-crunchers care about stuff like this. Fighters probably could use this boost anyway since fighters' phasers take too long to arm.
