Currently, 3ds MAX 5. Started out with Milkshape, then tried anim8or...pretty good little program. Got gmax, figured out how to export from gmax, wrote a tut on that, then got max4...then upgraded to max5. Matter of fact, the mesh for my Daedulus was done in anim8or...then I sent it to Pataflafla for the great texture job it has. Still so much to learn about it, and now they have Max 6...sheesh, they could at least wait until I'm more advanced before changing things. You should have included truespace...Makotokat and Agent Sloane/GeneralWolf/Don Dawson use it for their work. But you should know, Max will be the clear leader of the pack.

i started with milkshape as well... but I find 3dmax to be more comprehensive. Boolean operations are really the reason i switched.. Since i can call it off on my taxes it was worth it for me to spend the exorbident proce for the program. but it does as advertized. Its too bad that its so expensive otherwise i think every one would be using it.... You know autocad has a Light version...  You would thing 3dmax would come up with something like that as well..
