Hi all -
I just got SFC3, installed it, and it won't run. It keeps telling me that I don't have Directx 8.1 installed and crashes to the desktop. Actually, I have Directx 9.0 installed! What gives????
Thanks,
Micah

You need to download and install the SFC3 1.01 Beta 2 patch. It includes a fix for DX9.x. You can get it at:
http://www.sfc3files.com/sort.files?cat=859&ref=767
Once you've done that, you should be good to go.

There is a new version that will be available tomorrow morning for sure. I just finished uploading it, and the campaign will launch tomorrow too. The downloads page will be updated and avaialable tomorrow as well. The new mod is 282mb and changes a lot of game material. I think anyone who tries it will enjoy it a lot.

and seeing how SFC3 really doesnt support 56k.......

No So, I know lots of people on 56k play sfc3, at least on GSA. You Get Lag Playing Them AT times, But That is Any game.
Don't Know About Dynaverse, But It don't Matter I hate the Campaigns, both SIngle and Multiplayer

56k plays on Dyna just fine, however, it depends on how fast you actually connect to the net...
I have played on the dyna with a 24K connect with a v.92 56k modem and I played, and had some lag, I've also connected at 38.2k and had no lag.... I think the breakpoint of lag deepends on number of players in match.. and as such, I wouldn't play a serious campaign on anything slower than a 38.8 connect so at least you can play 4 players in match.. however, the Dial-up user must make sure that their machine is free of spyware, viruses, and everything that needes a connection to the net is turned off, like instant messenger or outlook express. this is to keep your bandwidth high during a mission... your bandwidth gets cut in half with outlook express, and in the middle of a mission when it checks your email, you will either get bad lag, or you will fall out of sync...
but Dial-up can and does work on the dyna, you just need to make sure you have a clean connection (and possibly Anti-Virus turned off and firewall turned off) so that you can utilize your bandwidth to the maximum on a server...
