The Hunter is often described as a suicide ship. The reason is that it is quite small and fragile compared to larger warships, and its weapons suite is only effective at relatively close ranges. It's combat record does little to bolster this record. Many blame the losses of so many frigates on the aggressive tactics of their crews, not a fault in the design. History has shown that in all races' fleet though, frigates suffer a high casualty rate.
