I just got a Mad Dog GeForce FX 5600 Plus for $99 at CompUSA. What a fantastic deal! This type of card generally runs over $150.
I am a big BIG cheapskate and rarely allow myself to buy upgrades. I am still running Windows 98 not because I like it any better but because I don't want to pay for a new OS and I play too many games to go with Linux.
But I have to say I am quite happy with it. I downloaded the Halo PC demo and it looked beautiful. I've played Dark Age of Camelot and everything is smoother and more realistic. I have not tried SFCIII with it, but I need to pop that in and give it a whirl this weekend.
There are better cards out there if someone wants to drop $200-$400 bucks, but for $99 a GeForce FX 5600 is not bad at all!

How much memory is on board Scott?

Thats a damn good card for that price Scott!
Sirgod, the 5600 comes in three flavours I believe - 128 meg of memory, 256 meg of memory, 128 meg Ultra. For $99, I supect it's the first one. Scott will have to confirm tho'.
EDIT - just looked it up. Info I have here says it's the 128 meg standard card. Looking at the numbers, it's a whole lot of card for the money!
I'm running one of the new 5700 Ultras now - got it for £140, which is about £30 off list price I believe.

It is 128MB memory.
CompUSA had a two-day sale Sunday/Monday. The card was knocked down to $130 and you get a $30 rebate if you buy it. So I spent $130 but in a six-to-eight weeks when I get my rebate it will be $99. Normally the card would retail for $180, I think.
It really was too good of a deal to pass up!
There is a deal not quite as good, but not bad, going:

That is a comparable card for $130, but no rebate.
