Title: US model trains in 1:29 scale -questions

Does anybody have real life experience with 1:29 scale model trains from Aristo-Craft or USA-Trains (ultimative series)?
Good quality? Suitable for kids?? Can I combine the rolling stock of both ??? Have read some good reviews on both and I am thinking about purchasing one as Marklin is much too expensive, when you err your kids want to play, and LGB has an really crappy scale, when you are not interested in small-track trains from Germany or Switzerland.

Is this HO scale? I was too young to know the numbers, but I know i had a great time.  You just gottta be smart with the smaller ones.  Then I had Lionell trains my parents let me beat up all  by my lonesome.

No, the scale is 1:29 (3 times HO) for the locomotives and rolling stocks while they cheat a little bit with the  tracks, they use the 45 mm instead of ~52mm. So you can use the stuff on most of the popular I or IIe tracks which are usually for DC.

H0 is 1: 87 scale (16 mm gauge) , 0 is 1:43 (32 mm gauge), I is 1:32 (45mm gauge), IIe is 22.5 :1 (45mm gauge) .
