Title: A really dumb yahoo mail question

Or with any mail for that matter.

In the time and date, is that the timezone of where the mail originated from when it was sent to me? Sometimes I see like

Mon, 01 Dec 2003 03:34:25 +0000

So if that is the real time of where it came from, what does the four zeros after the plus mean?

Here is a different one

Tue, 02 Dec 2003 12:25:13 -0700

Now I know that e-mail was written at that time, so what does the minus sign and the 0700 mean?

Here is another one too

Sun 30 Nov 20:36:07 -0600

Those four numbers changing from plus to minus and all over the place numberwise is irking me, I have not slept in a while. Can somebody please explain all that stuff to me? I feel so stupid, I been using e-mail since 97 and never knew...

The four numbers are the time zone it came from based on GMT. So +0000 is GMT, -0500 is EST. The time I believe is from the mail server that you connect to receives the message but I could be wrong there.
