When playing EAW I'm having a small problem when accessing multiplayer games. When given the choice between single player and multiplayer I will sometimes get a fatal error and the game shuts down. This only happens when I choose multiplayer and it doesn't happen everytime. I've had this game loaded on my computer two separate times. About a year ago I loaded my friend's game and this happened, I thought it was just a software glitch, and persistently kept attempting multiplayer until it let me continue. I recently bought the game for myself and installed it on this computer again and I still have the same problem. I'm running version 2036. I have a 3dfx Voodoo3 card, 224 MB ram, DX 8.1, and I'm running Win 98 2nd edition. After discussing the problem with a new friend over on gamespy's arcade for EAW I tried changing my resolution to 1024 by 768, but that didn't stop the problem from happening. Has this ever happened to anyone else or is my computer just hopeless. It's a 400MHZ computer, not the fastest calculator out there but I would think proficient for this game. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
