That is correct,
WAY back then time was considered in the "grouping" of the beats. There were only two types: Perfectum (groupings of three, or "trinity" grouping) and Imperfectum (groupings of two).
So Perfectum Imperfectum means 3 beats in 2 clusters, in todays standards that is 6/8.
So you get a Strong 1 and 4. {1} 2 3 {4} 5 6
Perfectum Perfectum was 9/8 {1} 2 3 {4} 5 6 {7} 8 9
Imperfectum Perfectum would be 3/4 or 1 and 2 and 3 and...
Imperfectum Imperfectum would be 2/2 or 4/4 or cut-time depending on how you count it. {1} 2 {3} 4 or 1 and 2 and....
Isn't funny that almost all rock music is Imperfectum Imperfectum?
