Title: SFC III wont run even after DX9 fix!?!?

Greetings,
 My new SFC III loads after the DirectX 9 fix and starts a tutorial or mission... BUT... there are no visible ships... only a sort of ghost ring.  My ghost ring thing can even turn and move ... until I lock on to something then the game locks my computer and I have to re-boot.  I'm having a heckova problem finding a support site... is there one out there?

Deinstall the game
Delete the SFC3 directory.    c:\Program Files\Activision\SFC3

Get the SFC3 1.01 beta patch.
 Patch links

Install the game.
Install the 1.01 beta patch.

Do not used the dx9 fix.  It is included in the beta patch.  If you use them both you will corrupt the game.

Make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

In addition to what is stated above, if you still have problems, do the following..

find the SFC3.exe in the game directrory, right click on the file and select properties. a grey properties window will pop up, in it, select the compatibility tab and put a checkmark in "disable visual themes"" and click OK.

afterwared try the game, if error still occurs, lower your desktop color settings to 16 bit color then try game...

if the problem is still occurring, check you system sepcifications as compared on your game box to make sure your equipment is capable of supporting the game, and if it is, then look for other drivers for your video card...

without knowing your system specs, it makes it hard to find solutions, so i kept it simple here..

You will need to uninstall SFC 3 then reinstall SFC 3 using the following method :

Go to Controll Pannel in Windows and go into Add/Remove Software, remove SFC 3

Delete the SFC 3 game directory found in C:\Program Files\Activision

reinstall SFC 3

patch usning SFC 3 Patch 1.01 Beta 2 Build v500
