what is the fix for the nivida g/cards so i can use dx9.b
what hapens is i uninstalded the game and tryed to instale it again started it up and it loaded played for 3 hours then crashed tryed to get back on and it would load to the option screen then crash to desktop i have tryed the visiol thing and a number of other things
plz help me im getting withdraw simptons now i need to play as i play on the dom wars server and im the xo for the klingons so i need to get back on soo PLZ HELP IM LOST

C:\Program Files\Activision\SFC3
Find the game file called SFC3.exe or just SFC3
right click on this file and select properties in the list that pops up
a grey properties box will pop up, click on the tab at the top called "Compatibility"
Down near the bottom is a check box that says "Disable Visual Themes", make sure that there is a check in this box.
Click OK then try running SFC 3
it should work properly now.

the proper method of install is as follows :
Update your system from Microsoft Windows Update Website, get all updates available.
make sure all your drivers are WHQL Certified
install SFC 3, install the game only, do not install GSA or DirectX 8.1
install SFC 3 patch 1.01 Beta 2 Build v500
make sure Visual Themes is disabled as described above
Install your mod of choice or just run SFC 3
If a problem occurs, try lowering your desktop color resolution to 16 bit.
Another thing ithat may help you is get Taldren's Recacher Program for the models..
This method will correct the Glow Effects for your video card...
to do this, run a search on your system for all *.x files, then delete them, run recacher and point it to your Models Directory in the SFC3\Assets directory and allow it to run.. this will adjust the glow effects for your specific video card and ease use on your system resources.
Try Game again.
If problems still occurs, run a Direct X Diagnostic
go to start menu, click on run, in pop up box type in dxdiag and click OK, run all the tests.. if anything says anything other than OK, then you may need to reinstall DirectX 9.0b from the Microsoft Web Site. You may want to do this anyways to ensure that Direct X is functioning correctly.
If you are still having imaging problems, try reverting backwards to an earlier version of the NVidia Detonator Drivers, this is assuming you are running a FX card. If you are running a NVidia Geforce 4 TI or MX card, the last WHQL drivers for those was back in November 2002, the card has no new support from NVidia.. some of the newer drivers will allow the card to operate properly, but the newer drivers are not WHQL for the Geforce 4 card, only the FX cards. Last version for Geforce 4 that is WHQL is the 4.0.7.2 Driver located here at :

i dont understand why it will play normaly in the standerd game but not the mod i have downloaded it 5 times now so a bad download is out could it be a bad file on my system but i have cheked the files with the disk checker and nothing came up i tested dx9.b and even reinstaled it again
is there a problem with the nivida cards and dx9 at all and is there any way to sort it out i have a gforce fx 5600 265 ddr 8 agp using the 53.03 drivers and it comes with dx9 anyaway
im lost and i wanta play the game any help at all would mean alot to me!!!!!!
