Title: How's the Official S.F.C.III Patch coming along,for the third time?

Dear Taldren,Activision,and Ladies and Gentle Gamers,I know this will be at least the third time that I've asked this question. And,I really,humbly,apoligize for being a Nag. However,It has been at least half a year ago since the people of this Forum,myself included,have recieved any type of information about how the Official S.F.C.III Patch is doing or when we can even hope to down load it. We don't even know if Activision and Paramount have even settled their legal differences,yet. I think that it is ridiculous that after all this time some kind of information either about the Official S.F.C.III Patch or the resolution of the legal differences between Activision and Paramount can't be assertained by someone and reported to this Forum. I would humbly appreciate current information on either the status of the S.F.C.III Official Patch or Activision's and Paramount's legal battle by anyone in a position to glean such information and report it to this August Forum. I'm just making an educated guess, but I would imagine that Activision don't care about SFC anymore and thus they aren't prepared to use any resources in the production of an "official" patch. I wouldn't worry - Taldren have a history of supporting their games to the bitter end. It may not be stamped as official by Activision, but what does that matter?

Joey, I must admit, that your posting style is Great. I know I really appreciate  the Mannerism's that you use. You have got to be one of the most polite people I have come across here, And I for one really appreciates that.

As for the patch, We are still working on It. I wish I could tell you more, But I'm under NDA. Just please be patient, and things will look up in abit.

Stephen,Sir,Thank You for your kind words. And,I'm very gratified to know that Taldren is still working on the Official S.F.C.III Patch. However,Sir,I have to ask the question even if you finish the Official S.F.C.III Patch,since we don't know if Activision and Paramount have settled their legal differences,yet. How can Taldren release the Patch in question without Activision's Q.A. "Seal of Approveal"? "Aye, there's the rub", to quote Shakespeare. There is still work being done on new builds of the patch, but who knows when everything will be settled to the point of seeing it released. Just keep in mind the dedication that Taldren has shown on its previous games, and hope for a quick resolution to the current legal issues.

On the plus side, if Activision truly has a "one patch" policy, whether stated or in practice, the delay that this has caused, and the fact that Taldren is still working on a patch, means that we will get a better patch for this game.

Taldren is currently working on a patch for SFC3.

In response to the implication made about "Breach of Contract"; Taldren is under no legal obligation to create the patch but is doing so because of its commitment to the players. Thank you for your concern though.

Hello All, just having a nose thru here to see if the 'Official Patch For SFC3' had been released and I am glad to see it's not long before we see one.

I had wondered if the Activision vs. Viacom lawsuit had any effect at all?

 I was just checking into the forum to find out this very thing, about the patch.

While I'm asking, any chance of a SFC 4 featuring the Tholians and Orions? I know this was planned before the jump to TNG, any chance of ever seeing this?

Last I checked, both sides were waiting for a court hearing. Which will most likely rule in favour of Viacom/Paramount and order Activision to pay a huge sum of money for breach of contract. The good news is that it will then free up all of the Star Trek Franchises. Not sure about SFC3 though, I believe as the games original publisher, Activision still possesses all of the rights to the game, even though they clearly want nothing to do with it. Which I guess means that even if the lawsuit is settled, Activision would still have to approve an official patch. Hopefully they'll just give Taldren permission to do it themselves...

Dude!!! Be patient, 2 weeks is hardly enough time to settle a lawsuit.    So unvirtueous.   Besides if you want more specific details regarding the lawsuit you might want to either get Googlized or check their official websites.

Two weeks its been longer than that, on this little spat. And I dont belive that Activision really needs to wait for the suit to be settled myself to ok the patch. They are just being Jerks about it.

Look we have explained how this patch stuff works, Activision could release the patch today if they wanted to. they dont.

Taldren has no control over that part, its all on Activisions back  whether to release or not, and since they are still in a legal disput with Paramount and others they will not release it. They are being jerks about it. You need to bug Activision.

Dude!!! Be patient, 2 weeks is hardly enough time to settle a lawsuit.    So unvirtueous.   Besides if you want more specific details regarding the lawsuit you might want to either get Googlized or check their official websites.

Two weeks its been longer than that, on this little spat. And I dont belive that Activision really needs to wait for the suit to be settled myself to ok the patch. They are just being Jerks about it.

What you expect sth. in 2 weeks? wahahahaha, shoot me now, shoot me now whahaha,check in about 2 years,and if you will be a good boy all this year maybe it will come out in the middle of 2005.

Look we have explained how this patch stuff works, Activision could release the patch today if they wanted to. they dont.

Taldren has no control over that part, its all on Activisions back  whether to release or not, and since they are still in a legal disput with Paramount and others they will not release it. They are being jerks about it. You need to bug Activision.

Sweet good to hear the patch hasn't been abandoned ah since over a year ago. So any idea when wecan expect the patch perhaps a slight hint?
