After doing some looking through a lot of my older Models and such I have found something I meant to release when I did the 1979 P-81 Enterprise and even found some other things I did but here is the Big E as she looked before the final version in TMP
-
You can NEVER have enough connie ships.

I like it. I'll change the color of the warp glow 1st thing tho
-
Hey man what do you mean 1979 enterprise???
If you are referring to the ship just before ST:TMP then I think you mean 1976-77ish as the movie came out in
1978. So 1979 would be just before ST:WOK
Awesome work as usual my man
I love the purple in the Nacelles...please keep it up
-
Now that is an awesome job!
-
Oh my!
She's so beautiful.
She's lovely!
I can't really put into words what she is.
But I do know that I'll be first in line to download, just as I'll be first in line to download ALLLLLLLL of those Constitution variants you have lined up. There are so many now, I've lost count. The day they become available I might need smelling salts standing by!
-
WOW ,one magnificent job.I want,I want,I want
Ok I'm better now.
-
You can find that one, before he retextured it on DuckTapeWonders site here. Just go to the downloads and Federation Heavy cruisers area
Either way nice looking ship Decker!
-
I think that ship is the Tikopai Retextured. If you want a nice Pre-TMP Enterprise go to I Mudd's site , he's go the early TMP version that appears on those late 70's Marvel Comic ads.
-
Will, I forgot to ask, are any of your ships available for download? I've been to your site and the only download I can locate is the Music download.
-
The Khambatta Project site has some minor snags to take care of before these ships will be released: IE: the updated site needs to be online but please be a little patient. Life still getting in the way.
-
Don't worry, I can hang on.

Good things come to those who wait.
-
Captain Ron, are the ships on DuckTapeWonder's site for SFC3, or only for SFC2/OP? I can't tell really and I don't have much experience with ship mods. Thanks.
-
The only way to tell is if they have named the *.mod files differently like WZ does or if there are *.gf files in it. Then you know SFC 3 will be able to use them. If not then they are porbably for SFC 2/OP, also the ships from SFC 3 will work in 2 but may need resizing.

Bump!

What in the WORLD is up with those purple nacelles? I think you must need a new monitor or something, your colour vision is shot!
-
In defense of Willarddcker, I believe his purple nacelles were inspired by production photos from Star Trek:TMP. I have seen some of them myself and they did indeed have an Enterprise with purple nacelles.
But if this isn't the reason, and he just used this color on his own, I still like it. It is different and I always think variety is a good thing.
In fact, willarddcker has created quite a few Constitution/Enterprise Class variants. It's my hope that he releases them all at some point. He has not realeased (I think) at least 3 versions of the Phase II, a.k.a. Fontana, 3 Terran/Earth Empires, 2 Vanessa E. Steggs, 3 Khambattas and more I know I'm forgetting.
And every darn one of 'em is a work of art!

In some earlier production shots the Enterprise did have a more purple glow to her warp drive than the "blue" that we seen in the original movie and her subsequent sequels. It does not mean that my monitor is screwed up or anything of the sort. It is an attempt to make this version of the Enterprise closer to her look in the studio shots Paramount had before she was made to look like she did in the films
-
She looks like a good ship and I look forward to taking her out for a test warp

Actually I have seen those photos as well. I was surprised when the screwed up moniter reference was made. While I do not know the story behind the actual colour change it is interesting to see. Most of those pics I saw in my art of Star Trek book, great for reference shots when I was building models in the day. Sigh time. Anyway hope she will be available soon. As it has been said before, you can never have enough connies. I always have enjoyed TMP era ships.
-
I stand corrected! Though I think that pic number 3 is the only one that is really purple; the other ones still look more bluish than purple.
Maybe I need a new monitor!
Anyway, as lots of people have pointed out, you can never never ever have too much 'Big E'!
-
I feel I shoulkd at this point point out the fact that only the first 2 photos are from before the modifications were made that turned the ship into the finished movie model. The later photos are all of the finished model and some appear to be stills from the movie - specifically 4 and 5 though all the others are still the later TMP version. The SOTSF manuals list the early version as a separate ship class they call the Tikopai.
-
I only have one nitpick of this fantastic model
Why arent the torpedo ports red?

Why would they be? In the original fiulm they're blackened and we don't know what they looked likeon the pre-production as those 2 photos don't show us.
-
The pre production Enterprise torpedo bays are more yellow than the red seen in Star Trek the motion picture.

Hey Willarddcker!
