Well my luck can't get any worse really (short of death) so it will probably be a pretty good day for me! Hope yours doesn't go too bad.
-
I wonder where that superstition came from. Anyone know?

Well 13 was always associated with witchcraft. Don't know about the Friday part.

Here ya go.
Silly Superstitions

I was planning on going to my uncles and getting drunk, even though I am not superstitious about a hell of a lot of things and Fri 13th has never been an "unlucky" day for me, I decided not to take the trip....

Friday is the Day Christ was Crucified. There were thirteen (Apostles plus J.C.) at the table for the last supper. This superstition is one that comes from the early church. Little has been done to discourage it.
Once upon a time tall building "skipped" the 13th floor. Similiar to housing courts now going from 664 to 668 on the even side.

Along the same lines comes the theory that the number 13 was purposely vilified by the founders of patriarchal religions in the early days of western civilization because it represented femininity. Thirteen had been revered in prehistoric goddess-worshiping cultures, allegedly, because it corresponded to the number of lunar (menstrual) cycles in a year (13 x 28 = 364 days). As the solar calendar triumphed over the lunar with the rise of male-dominated civilization, so did the number 12 over the number 13.

Snopes has an update for the occasion.

Well according to the link I provided -
Beware of Friday the Thirteenth. Those who know about these things, inform us that Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden on a Friday, Noah's flood started on a Friday, and Christ was crucified on a Friday. Christians also noted that twelve witches plus one devil are present at Satanic ceremonies so Friday and 13 make a deadly combination.

Go figure, Friday-the-13ths have almost always turned out to be great days for me.
Hmm, maybe there really is something to the Evil Dave bit
