Title: I learned something today
Post by: Khalee on February 24, 2004, 09:14:08 pm
Eggs will explode in the microwave if you cook them to long. And they make a nice mess that has to be cleaned  up afterwords too.

Use a (microwave safe) egg cup and put a small hole in the top.  No bangs no messes.

Did that and they still exploded made a surprisingly loud pop too when they did.  Use to high of power at least for my microwave I guess.

someone makes a pretty good Egg poacher for the microwave that my wife uses for sandwiches for breakfast. I'll ask her where she got that.

Another fun thing, Is to place a blank cd , on top of a plastic cup for about 5 seconds in the microwave.

Not only is the lightshow Fun, But you also learn about mendelbracht sets and chaos theory afterwords.

I found out Wendi?s aluminum foil does not take to a microwave. All the Grease and sparks made a wonderful fire.

And WARNING: Do not open microwave when on fire. Unless you want a scenario of a back draft.

(oh! Also burnt my eyebrows\beard off when a Grill Gas tank sprung a leak. (ie was very lucky, it was nearly empty.) And my wife was hysterically laughing for five minutes. Before she asked me if I was alright. The aftermath, 1st degree sun tan with white flakes on my face. Lesson: Hair burns real easy, and check gas tanks for leaks before lighting. Doh!)

If you want to have more harmless fun than you have ever had with a microwave this year then make sure to
get a package of marshmellow "Peeps" this year around Easter.

Put them in the microwave and watch them --you will be amazed!

Stuff like this reminds me of the goofing things I saw and did in the Army.

Frined of mine was setting a boobytrap to 5 gallons of gasoline inside a culvert so it would create a nice fireball when the OPFOR opened the front gate of a POW compund we were guarding, (we were playing the bad guys)

Anyhow I noticed he had the power hooked up as he was setting the tripwire. So I said hey clint your not supposed to do that with the power hooked up. Set the tripwire then the power. Well he looks at me and a fioreball shoots past his head. He burnt his hair off as well as half his mustache. Now why was this funny.

He was my best man at my wedding the following week and he had to shave his head and mustache off to look semi normal again.
