Title: In memory of actor Paul Winfield, Tamarian Cruiser re-released!
Post by: Atrahasis on March 09, 2004, 10:41:20 pm

He was around forever, and 62 is a bit too early to go in my opinion.

Enjoy the re-release, this time I eliminated unwanted shadows to make it more perfect than ever.

Thanks Atrahasis

A very nice ship. Also with a little alteration you could probably make a BattleStar Escort out of her as well.

Thanks for another fine ship, Atrahasis. It made my day to see you around here. I hope it's a regular sight again.

I have liked this model for a long time. You did such a good job on it I had to find a place for her in OP.

If you would... please tell me who Paul Winfield is. I'm drawing a blank on this one.

Oops, my oversight: He's the African-American actor who played Captain Terrell in ST:II and then the Tamarian captain in the TNG episode "Darmok". He's been in tons of major films as well.

Geez, I wasn't even aware that he'd died. Excellent tribute, Atra.

Pail Winfield also appeared in B5 as Dr. Franklin's dad and in the Terminator as the police lt. He will be missed.

Excellent ship though and btw Atra...this gave me the chance to d/l and burn all of your models to cd....just in case!

Ah... thank you. That was one of my favorite TNG episodes. I liked the linguistic imagery. Too bad about his passing. I'm not a big fan of death.

Thanks for reintroducing this one. It is an excellent model. I am very impressed with the way you and Rick could do illuminations on your models. Also good to see the Ark back up. Take note people. This stuff won't be around forever. If in doubt, archive it. It's surprising how many models one has to accumulate in order to instal a set that makes sense.

...darmok came across the ocean...    Yeah, certainly one of the best tng episodes.
i always wanted that ship! ive seen a screenshot ages ago but the ark was offline at that time. now it will join my orions fleet as a heavy cruiser

btw: atra, you mentioned that u might rerelease all of your classics. does that include the ascension dreadnought u once made? i still have the belknap but i never found the ascension again. your tos models are freakin cool , especialy those tugs are awesome. im very very glad you returned

I think it's safe to say that most of us aren't big fans of death either.

Wasn't he also in the Terminator?

Atra, glad you are back and excellent model as usual.

By the way, thanks to Dolphoenix of Trek Homeworld for giving me all my server space and being all-around helpful. It's largely due to him that I can keep my site running. The SFC modelers over the years have owed a great deal to those great guys at Trek Homeworld.

Homeworld Forums

You can drop by and see what they're doing........there is lots of stuff that they have done that would be great if converted over to SFC mods. They learned a lot from us here at SFC initially, those many years ago, but now I think SFC modelers can learn a lot from them. Many FASA fans there too.
