I forgot to mention this. But it seemed to be an argument AGAIN whether the Raptor would survive. I have found thru local military news that the F-22 is not in danger and will still be replacing our F-15s. I am trying to find more links, but all I have is direct news from Tyndall AFB here. Tommarow, I will be attending their air show and word is the public will get to see them and I will photo what they will allow. I will post that ASAP along with more detailed news about them.
The two things I can say from a few glimpses I've seen of them in the sky, they are WAY quieter that F-15s, I haven't heard any definite noise like an F-15, and I've seen one perform what my POV looked liek a U-Turn without banking. Of course I was on the beach watching it fly from quite a distance. But tommarow, I will get my Q's answered and pass on what I can.

There are already units using them, so I doubt the gov't would just can them, although nothing our gov't does suprises me anymore. Take lots of pictures for us!
-
Cleared the memory card and got spare ready.
-
My company has about a dozen long term contracts that deal directly with the F-22....crap they better not cancel it
-
They had an F-22 Raptor ON DISPLAY and I was able to get within 10 feet and take pics! I will shrink them down and upload them to my crappy little webpsace ASAP. Anyone who wants to full size high rez images e-mail me and let me know which one you want (when you see them linked later that is). Got to go, post later!

Did it have that brand new machine smell?
-
Can't say I'm surprised it's still alive. The AF is prolly still smarting over that Eurofighter thing.
Looking forward to your pics Towelie.

Posted thread with them just now in Hot n Spicy. I don't think the USAF is sweating over any European fighter. You should of heard how in love they are with the F-22. They would marry it if they could.
-
I don't think they're sweating it per se. I think they're so used to the F-15 being head and shoulders above every other air superiority fighter in the world that they're not comfortable seeing that challenged. Time to raise the bar again.
