OK Anonymous Users Idendtify yourselfs. What do all nonAnonymous users think like myself? I do see more most of the time when looking to see who is online. The Anonymous Users could get more help from us if they identified themselfes.
What do the rest of you think ?

Annonomour user is either a guest browsing the boards.. or someone that went into their profile and set it to not show them online...
most annonomous posters are logged in and making posts... they just choose not to be bothered when online by PM's and such.. or for others to hunt the thread they are in so they can post unhasseled.

Actually the anonymous users are people not signed in. Those set to not show in their profiles don't show at all.
Once when I was taking my time posting a response and making sure it was clear and not offensive, the person I was responding too posted 3 times asking what was holding me up. He was monitoring the "who is online" and could see that I was working on a response. I used the invisible option that very day. The individual involved has now been permanently banned, but I will stay hidden.

What I find odd about the current listing in the "Who's Online" page is the number of anonymous users (just one?) looking at registered users profiles. It seems like much more than usual (last two days). Normally I find unregistered users (or users not logged in) are reading threads - not collecting e-mail addresses as it currently appears (?).
-
Hmmm.... Why does this bother me?

You mean Cloak don't you.How do you stay hidden when you have to log in to post I certianly can't.That cloaking device must be working.

It is also my understanding--though I am really groggy from this flu so could be wrong--is that Ann has changed settings to allow only registered users the ability to see profiles.
Best,
Jerry

Makes you wonder if some of them are fishing for e-mail addresses to send thier Spam mail out to us who get too much as it is
.
anyway make you wonder
-
Bots regularly troll USELESSNET (USENET) and other open forums for people who have put thier E-mail, mesenger or other contact data in thier sigs or profiles or else where. Often it is for spammers but sometimes it is for ID theft or for less sinister purposes.
-
Maybe it is the government trying to figure out what we are doing in here.
