Title: A good moding program???

whats the best program to get for makeing ship models? looking to buy one and want a good program

i like 3dsmax 5. downside $2000 or more. as a cheap alternative some people use Milkshape  Milkshape

anything for around a couple hundred dollors? thats how much i have for budget....

Thats not alot to work with, I know a site its called Omega, they have like a list of stuff, take a look, but remeber most of them are pretty steep.

Some suggest trying gmax out. Its max watered down. Its a pain to bring a ship into mod format. I haven't tried it yet but its free. Do a search for it.

I use milkshape. Price went up to 25 dollars.  there is a 30 day trial period.  It can make decent models. Its the easiest to learn.  You can use some of what you learn later  if you get max.  For an example of a milkshape model-check my Norway thread,  takes a bit longer to model in milk perhaps but the price is right

ok found gmax.. sweet program. know of any programs to use to convert .mod files into something gmax can use? if so let me know
