This is the second time I've seen an article on it. the last time was a couple of years ago. neat stuff. liquid body armor

That's a staggering Concept ( No Pun Intended) and I agree with It's use in other commercial Companies,ie Cars, planes etc.
what people have to recall though, Is while It could stop Penetration of a Ballistic, the Impact Itself can and will hurt like Heck at the same time. But It is a great way to save lives.

I think most people would gladly trade seeing their insides splattered all over a nearby wall for hurting like heck instead.

I liked the part about it saving lives in an airline crash...
If you hit any hard object that fast, whether the ground or the now-suddenly-solid shirt you are wearing, you are still going to wind up with liver tar-tar all over the inside of your ribcage. Blunt trauma is still blunt trauma.
But I do like the idea of that crazy Hajjii's grenade not ripping off my arm at the shoulder cause I just can't jump that far with a SAW in my hands and 30 lbs. of ammo on.

Hmm... are we reading the same article? I saw nothing about it being useful in a crash.
Not that it really matters much. Just curious...

It does mention that they are researching its uses in such a case. The impact is translated and dispersed whether it is a point trama like a bulet or a chest hitting the seat in front of it.
