Due to the size of the image I provided a link to it rather than using the image display tags. I am still transferring the image as I write this so I can't test the link. It should work.
Here is a smaller copy.

I did say slightly large.
My copy is only 27mb. How did you get to 101?

Slightly Large...
Yeah, right- thank God for Cable!
I think that is the only beautiful desert that I've ever seen. Makes you wish, don't it.
Oh, yeah... my copy is 27Mb too.

LOL.... I can remember those days- I had a 26k connection before I got deployed. Took a full 5 minutes for the forums to load opn an average day. On a high-traffic Friday at about 6PM, I could just hang it up. I us usually D/Led things during mealtime or while I was asleep- took a whole 2 weeks to get all of thu11's Feral Yards models for the Lyrans and Hydrans.

Too bad I don't have a triple monitor system. That would make an inteesting wallpaper for such a setup.
-
I opened in the browser then did a save pic as bmp. I am now grabbing the 27 MB jpg to compare the two.

The martian sky is uninspiring, but an amazing picture regardless. Remind me to buy my cameras from NASA.

The image is a composite. Look at the flaw in the Rover in the lower right corner where things don't align correctly.
In past images NASA has used "false colours" to enhance details. I would suspect that they have done the same here. No intent to decieve just to bring out details.

They have several used ones for sale. But you have to arrange to pick them up "on site" yourself.

Breathtaking.
I kind of wish I was there, putting MY boot prints all over the place.
