I know many people don't like Enterprise, but does anyone know if it will be renewed? I heard there is an anouncement on May 20, but surely we will know before then, won't we?

On May 20th, UPN will announce their fall schedual. It is unlikely they will announce anything beforehand.

According to what Berman's been saying in interviews, the season finale will kick off another, shorter arc that'll start the next season. In fact, rather than one big arc, season 4 will probably be broken down into several mini-arcs.

Well, the build-up to this season's ending has been going pretty well. Still, I haven't been as shocked by anything in this series as I was by a Stargate SG-1 episode that aired on Friday.
If you watch the Stargate show, this Friday's actually managed to take me by surprise, and brought a well-earned tear to my eye. They've run all the main characters into near-death, and death, situations enough time that I was pretty sure the dead person in the episode was the Wells guy they featured in the last few episodes. Who it turned out to be actually managed to surprise me, and give me a slight gut-wrench.
It also touched on the topic of our servicemembers putting themselves in harm's way. I hope Enterprise can achieve that just once before it goes off the air.

Many people may not like it, but UPN is a troubled network, and Enterprise is far from the lowest in the ratings categeroy...so i dont think they will cancel it.
