i am pleased and excited to announce that ill be moving from boston mass to austin texas to pursue my graphics art career w. Sony Online Entertainment on the Star Wars Galaxies line. My first task: Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed.
this si very exciting for me not just because of the title, the company or the salery. Some of my childhood games such as wing commander and privateer and even the last years Freelancer were worked on by some of these artists. these guys are as close to heros as a game artist can get and ill be sitting in the cube next to them!!
so anyway im leaving in 2 weeks for austin and me an my family are very excited!

Congrats p81, my cousin lives in Austin texas, hes a game programmer...he loves it.
-
well just let me say a few things

now that thats out of the way, congrats man very much congrats. just dont be a stranger around these parts.
PS,
if u ever need someone to do some out of the box thinking, u can look me up on here
-
Congrats. Thought Sony would outsource ths work overseas. You got lucky, or you must not be paid much for this or both
... NEVER tell them you have a childhood interest... they use that against your salary.
TOO LATE!

congrats P-81. In a way ... that is why I feel the way I do about SFC. Just being able to mess around a bit here is extremely rewarding to me.
I hope one day to figure out how to do texturing ... ( stuff you can do in your sleep...hehehe) All in all though it's an aspect of the gaming community that I really find facinating !!
again ...Congrats sir !!

Now I know someone whom I can say as an example of why Sony charges so much for their products.
EDIT: Oh, btw., am happy for ya. Not often do you get paid for what you enjoy doing.

He has already left us countless models and permissions to use his parts that have ended up in countless more kitbashes... How many more damned models do you need from 1 guy?
What more do you want? Take a 10 foot syringe and roll him up like squeezing water from a rag?
Hey P81... I have a model idea I want you to make for me... PM me when you have time.
-
Hey, perhaps some of your "new old" models that you've made while you were at MadDoc could be added into SWG:JTL as "Easter Eggs." I'd bet that would boost sales...;)
-
Awesome dude!! I hope one day to be able to break into the field, but as I'm learning a little at a time on my own, probably be few years yet.
-
I think that diserves a "Hot Diggity Dang" P-81.
Congrats, man... with you working on this, it's gonna be a fine looking game.
-
Congarts! Austin is only one of two other cities I would choose to live in beside Las Vegas. Watching the bats take flight in the evenling or enjoying the pleasure of all the music of 6th strett are only two of the great events your future home has to offer.
Best,
Jerry

Congrats dude hope you get to do some overtime and use the high quality sony stuff to send us good models
but really not everyone gets the chance you have so huge congratulations
-
Loc: Auburn, Alabama
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEKK !!!
ROLL TIDE !!!
(J/K bro)

Congrates dude!
You will like texas, hot in the summer 100+ in some areas near Austin, and cold in the winter snows near there too. The thing you will like the most about leaving Boston is that things cost less in texas for allot of things compared to what you are use to.
-
Excellent! Congrats! Austin, eh?
-
Congrads P81! I was always told if you are going to work, try to make it doing something you enjoy and never worry about the salary... Lucky you! I wish I could take my own advice, LOL.

Oh brother, imagine how good a Mon Calamari cruiser will look when he's done with it. Congrats!

Nothin but best wishes for ya bro. We benefited from your participation and efforts right here in Taldren land first and still hold your work in much esteem. I borrowed one of your textures not a month ago for something I am not skilled to do myself yet. Why learn Photoshop when cut and paste is so easy? Hope Austin is good to you.
-
congrats p81! sorry i didnt see this earlier, but i have been a bit tied up as of late.
this sounds incredible. i bet you are glad to get away from boston for more than one reason. LOL.
this is just TOOO sweet though. cannot wait to see your work man.
