Will be texturing in the next few days

Without reference points, I can't tell what class (size) it is. Nice shape... but how big (or small) is it?
-
Lemmie guess,...
Frigate, right?
I say that 'cause the impulse engines are so far aft. I think that they'd be farther forward on a bigger ship.
I like it, I like it...
How many polys (just curious)?
-
From the size of the bridge module, I'm guessing light cruiser? Interesting that you have the impulse deflection crystal on a TOS style ship. Perhaps this ship was the test bed for that technology?
The only thing that is making me scratch my head a little is the thin hull aft of the impulse drive.
An interesting design.
-
looks to be the start of a decent looking ship.
-
Another great lookin' pre-TOS style design!! I'm goin' with Frigate also.
-
Frigate? Pretty large nacells to saucer ratio. Maybe a police or scout.
-
i dont know about a frigate but more like a police escort or small DD , but its still hell of a ship. oh one thing
modelsplease i want i want it first

had to get that one out of my system

Seriously though it looks like one tough little Frigate or Police ship could even be a Gun Cutter for that matter. I dig the originality of the design.Manitoba can have THIS ONE first but I get it second
j/k

me third :P

I was thinking it would be an escort Destroyer/very light cruiser, Maybe this is the largest police ship available a Police Light Cruiser. For patrol in settled systems where a capitol ship is not needed but where a larger ship would be a good idea. Say along an unsettled internal border Vulcan/Andorian? Tellerite/Edoan? who knows.
The thin area aft of the impulse was just a thought i think i will make it thick enough to be an actual deck.
-
It's about 9000 poly's right now. I haven't optimized her yet.
-
AWESOME!!!!

Police cruiser
-
About time someone gave the MP Corps some decent equipment!
Do you play SFB? IF so, the Early Years heavy cruiser woud be a good place to look for how to arm her (after you update it a bit):
6xPhaser-1's (heavy cruiser arcs)
2xPhoton Torpedos (FA arc)
Of course, she'd nead at least 1 rear-firing phaser and a couple of drone racks.
Great ship- I'm definately gonna get this one!
-

here is the most recent side ant aft quarter view.
The thin area is thick enough to be a deck perhaps this is the police training facility.
-
OOHHH, OOOHHH!!! I know, I know, it's a helicopter landing pad!!
J/K!!
-
MP's dont need anything this fancy. all they do is go around making trouble for some of us enlinsted and officers. ( ex-squid here) thats a story for another time. i was thinking like escort duties for this baby. kinda like state police are like. perchance ur ship is somewhat like my DEWEY class. http://michaelmccauley.fotopic.net/c185669.html lol
-
I love the idea !!!! A border patrol Police Light Cruiser.Like 111wallace111 suggested when you don't need a capital ship. Think of this as a Mobile Police Station perhaps she carries PFT's and Ftrs that patrol like squad cars.Perhaps even a SWAT team. How's that for an idea? As for class......How about F-PCL ? She could have Fed security force markings on the hull. That long area near the shuttlebay could be where the PFT's are parked ( like fighters on a carrier deck ) one row on either side of the rampway that leads to the shuttle hanger. Stuff to consider.

that would be cool
-
oK SO HERE IS THE LATEST STUFF FOR THIS SHIP

and here is the "police car" a patrol "runabout" TOS style

-
I love it... any idea what the the Starfleet Police Corp insignia looks like?
And the 'squad cars' need to come seperate, too... so as we can meke them into armed fighters for the ship to launch!
-
Man that is Bad A$$$ mate
That shuttle just Rocks!!!
soo awesome

Maybe it looks like this.
-
Nice, but I like the shield alone without the Enterprise delta behind it. But I think that the delta gets overused anyway.
Can't wait to see the finished product, man...
-
i have an idea about the insignia for the police if you think about it they are just like the M.A.K.O.S in enterprise but without all the impressive hardware so why not use the mako insignia with a less milatary feel to it
-
I like it but I would loose the delta as well from behind the badge.
I have a couple of more ideas for you to ponder sir.
For a ship class I submit...........
The Peacekeeper Class or The Enforcer Class
Instead of NCC perhaps FCC which stands for Federation Circuit Court
and for individual ship names may I offer............
USS Judge Dredd
USS Harry Callahan -aka The "Dirty Harry"
Thought that might be cool.
-
YES, YES, YES!!!
I love that ModelsPlease!
This thing has GOT to be the U.S.S. Harry Callahan-class.
That is so fricken' perfect.
For some alertnate regestries:
U.S.S. Joe Friday
U.S.S. Francis Poncherello
U.S.S. T.J. Hooker
and maybe even
U.S.S. Roscoe P. Coletrain
-
The USS HARRY CALLAHAN_ ENFORCER CLASS_ F-PCL does sound pretty cool huh? I love the Roscoe P Coletrain one that rocks !!!! And the others as well, all great ideas.
let me as well add as alternates registries.
USS Kojak
USS Baretta
USS Columbo
Better yet all those shuttles will need names as well
( just like the old Galileo).
-
Actually, if you want to be technical, the Security/Police Symbol for starfleet is this

Ok so i thought i would name the actual ship after the cars used by the police forces in todays world. Caprice, Fairlane, grand marquis,. ect.....
the "police cars" will be named after histrical/theatrical officers. The one i am using now is Phil Chacon. He was a cop in Albuquerque shot in the line of duty. I thought it might be cool to get a list of the officers from 911 and name a few after them.
Ok it's a little less playfull then The "Barny Fife" but i think it gets the point across.
-
If you are naming after cars, you can't forget the AMC Javelin or the GM Impalla- those were what the State Troopers in AL used as pursuit cars.... though the Javs had to keep a lot of spare parts in the trunk to fix whatever broke dduring the chase, cause those things were just too fast for their own good- they were always falling apart.
Though I'd name the 'cars' after the cars and stick with the traditional stlye of naming the ships after people.
*is still waiting patiently for his copy!
-
bummer it would have been cool to have "The Dirty Harry"
