Title: Wish people would run Anti Virus checkers or get off Hotmail

About 8 out of 10 Emails from a hotmail addy that I get has a virus attached to it, good thing my isp is catching them and my AV is geting the rest. If you get any program for your computer Anti Virus softwear should be at the top of your list.

 What needs to start happening, Is that anyone delivering an email of file thats contains a virus through negligence, Should have their account pulled. If it continues Fines and jail time.
 There is no excuse to be lazy or sloppy, And these jerks are causing just as much damage as the people writing the virus them selves.

Bring it on, viruses!!!!

 




On a side note, I wonder if Xandros would make a good Windows replacement?  It's Linux with a windows like GUI (works almost like Windows) and has WINE built in to run a lot of Windows programs.  If you compiled WineX...you'd have a virus free Windows like stable Linux OS that can run SFC3...

WINE runs Windows programs.  Windows viruses are Windows programs.  Windows viruses can infect a Linux computer running WINE, but cannot infect the Linux OS or Linux programs themselves merely those Windows programs running under WINE.

Better is to run native Linux browsers and E-Mail programs.  You can still run other programs under WINE and be safer than if you ran Windows based browsers and/or E-Mail.

Yeah but you'd have to be stupid enough to instruct WINE to run the virus, LOL!  It can't use exploits to run itself.
