I am not planning any variations on this ship at this time..... however........
I use the word however alot.

I might play with the idea of updating it to TMP. era.

The Runabout on the back deck is at ready station. It would have been in the bay for repairs ect. but it stays on deck with crew for quick launch. The ready Op. runabout could launch in less than a minute to speed up the response time. They would rotate the ships at four hour interverls just like standard Navy watch stations. Once the need came in for the runabout the next ship in rotation would go on Ready station. There would actually be five runabouts on board. One would be available to replace any ship in its watch rotation.
   Sounds pretty good huh?
