Title: How do you get SFC Gold Edition to stop glitching in Windows XP?

It seems everytime a ship exploads or a shield impact from a weapon the game will glitch up. It is REALLY irritating and makes it virtually unplayable. Is there a fix for this? I do not have this problem with EAW.

There is A Fix that Pestalence has for xp, But I'm not sure If It fixes the Glitching. It sounds like a Driver Problem but I'm Not sure.
