i try to run sfc1 but i get this messgae:sunmapls_ip_ebp_20 not found in the dymanique liaison of the library kernell32.dll
i got win xp familly edition
256 meg of ram
integrated video card
2 x 80 gig hd
???

Check out Pestalences site, he's just released a "patch" for SFC1 to run on XP (home/ pro).

the problem is i can't install the game, i got all 3 patch but since i don't know what version i have i don't know what patch use. ???

i have 2 suggestions
#1, go to your start button, click on Window's Updates, let their site scan your system.. get all updates available except for Video Card Drivers, get Video Card drivers from the manufacturer of your video card (not the manufacturer of your machine).
#2, Go to the following site :

Find the Networking install of Windows XP Service pack 2 and download it.. after installing it, it will effectively turn you system into Windows Xp pro.. this update, if not released already, will be released soon...
the network install contains a complete update package where the windows update for Service Pack 2 is only a partial update.. you will know that you have the correcct package as the Incomplete package is only 100 MB where the Full Network Install is 225 MB.. you want the 225 MB package..
No one using Service Pack 2 has had a problem using SFC 1.. Some people, depending on the stuff that they istall like memory managers, Virtual CD's and all that other junk.. they are the one's who complain about install and playability problems.. those items overwrite Windows Signed Components with unsigned (and untested) components.. which will cause stuff to mot operate correctly..
Speaking of which.. you can check your system to make sure no window's components have been altered..
go to Start button.. click Run, type in CMD and press enter.. in the black window type the following
sfc /scannow
this will do a full operating system scan (windows operating system scan only, not entire computer)
If a file has been altered or changed by another program, it will ask you for your Window's install CD.. which means something on your system is altering your Digitally Signed Operating System files... You may want to determine what program caused the problem and completely remove it from your system.. if SFC /SCANNOW finds nothing.. then your system is clean and may just be in need of an update, or possibly Service pack 2.

well i will buy a old com that run with win 95 and 98, i will use it to check an old backup that i have made and use it as a backup com if this one need to be fix or upgrade, also i will be able to install old game like transport tycoon, sfc1 and other game that don't work on win xp :P

He could also run a Dual Boot system if he has Both Os's.

I have to admit, I still have an old 286 and a 386 here at home. They Come in handy at times.

You might want to try patching those games up to XP as well.

well the old transport tycoon have not patch, its a old dos game that can be play on a 386, and other game like a bridge too far have no know patch for win xp, also i 2th com is usefull when this one is busy.

Don do you know how to update your windows if not go to computer store and ask someone.This is needed to help maintain your system and windows.This is important in not letting in worms or other types viruses in your system.It does not matter if you have a anti virus software they will creep in some how unless your windows is up to date and new updates are coming out all the time.
