I am trying to think of a word but I'm not having any luck. How would you discribe how someone catches a disease from someone else. I'm trying to say something like "We don't even know how it is spread" or "it is communicable" or something like that.

Infectious, Contagious?
Are you trying to describe "how" it is spread, the person spreading the disease, or the disease itself?
-
Disseminated maybe?
-
transferred from host to host?
-
Right, how it is passed from person to person. How you catch it from someone else. It doesn't really matter it's just I have something stuck in my head and can't think of the word I was looking for. :-\

Tony. Just out of curiosity, have you used dictionary.com's thesaurus function?
-
And to answer your question, are you thinking about communicable? As in, "how communicable is this disease?"
-
I guess that's it. Cay you say "We don't know how this disease is communicable." ??
-
how bout " We don't know how this disease is transmitted from host to
the infected subj....."
-
Communicable is the best word to describe IF it is transmitted. "We do not know if the disease is communicable."
"Transmission vector" would be my suggestion for HOW it is transmitted. "We know the disease is communicable, but we do not know it's transmisson vector."
