I use to play SFCI/II way back in the day.. When SFC 3 came out I thought the SFC 1/2 community was pretty much dead... atleast till I found this site! I've played a bit on the SFC3 campaign, but I have to admit I find SFC1/2 far more enjoyable and challenging.
I would like to know what I need to be able to play some of the SFC2/op campaigns. At the moment I only have SFC2 w/ with the 2036 patch. If I need to get my hands on a copy of OP, I'm sure I could.
Any information about what expansions and patches I need would be most appreciated. Also I'd love to hear about some of the more popular mods. The Galaxies at War and General War mods sound awsome!

Go here (http://klingon.stasis.ca/sources_and_utils/) for the latest OP patch. Patches are at the very top of the page. Hit the "page down" key once and you'll see SFC: OP Plus Refit Shiplist. Click there and you'll have the choice to download FireSoul's OP+ shiplist either with models (heavy download, but good eye candy ;D) or without models (quick download). There are also various mission packs there that you will be required to download depending on server requirements. Since there are no campaigns running at this time, just get the patch and shiplist and drop in fer a game on GSA :)

P.S. Go here (http://www.teamspeak.org/) to download TeamSpeak, a voice communications client, and connect to central.tmspk.com:9238 (password: sfc) to get in touch with those of us that happen to be online at the time. Lately we've been using TeamSpeak to coordinate IP gaming, training sessions for the next server, which you would benefit from, that is, if yer flyin' Fed or Kzin ;)

Hello Bad,
as far as EAW (sfc2) it has pretty much fallen by the wayside since the last patch for OP came out, so you will want to snag a copy of OP.

Yes, I was a member of TRL a LONG time ago... and yes, I remember you, Ben Bean. How could I forget someone I taught how to fly a Rom ship.. only to have him come back and teach ME a few new tricks!

How did I find this site? hehe, kind of a funny story. I found this site because of a link from a SFC 3 forum that posted a link to here. Guess you could thank Watertiger.. I'm sure you all know who he is.. LOL

I don't want this to turn into a Watertiger bashing thread. I just know that SFC II is a far superior game compared to SFC III (where the differences between the races is merely cosmetic) Had I known what SFC III was like before I bought it, I wouldn't have. At the same time, what Pelican has done for SFC III is outstanding.
Dominion Wars was the only reason I played SFC III (that and I didn't realized anyone still played SFC II), if the SFC II mods are half as good as the work Pelican has done.. I may never play another game again!
