Davey--

With ATI, the "XT" moniker means "badass".  With Nvidia, "XT" means underclocked and underpowered.  I made the mistake of buying a Geforce FX 5600 XT.  My old GeForce 4 Ti4200 was just ast fast and performed better.  My new Geforce FX 5200 Ultra is substantially faster than the 5600 XT was.  If its an Ultra, its a great card.  If its an XT, its not so hot.  You stated it was an XT Ultra.  There's no such thing, unfortunately, so I guess that's where the confusion is coming from.

Understood,   but the price is ?
the 5900 XT is £115,  and the ATI ?

Many friends have had real problems with drivers from A.T.I,  This IMHO was the best card for its price range

Depending on what you had before, I'm sure you're gonna love the new card.  Just check your clock speeds on it.

I've had no problems with the ATI Radeon 9700.... You probably should have gotten that, or the 9800.

Right now, youve thrown tons of money at a processor, that wont reach anything near its peak, because the vid card is holding it back.

Like Davey said, GFX cards are not cheap over here, besides i have the same card and it runs the latest games fine.

ATI Radeon 9700 = £280 plus

ATI Radeon 9800 is £310 plus

the card works great so far, however if i did have the spare dosh, i would of gone for the 5950 ultra at about £280
