OK, here's an original design by me. ::) Still need to texture it, but I thought you might like to see it anyway. She comes in at 3787 polies. Whatcha think?

The mesh looks nice.  Is 4000 polies a lot for the average cpu/vid card to handle?

no, 2000 - 6000 is about the average :)

Most "after-market" models are in the 2,000-6,000 range, as Mackie said. :) It's one reason why they look better than stock models. ;)

hey bud ..   you're really starting to get the hang of things ..  looks good ...  and poly is good too.  ( the only thing I might have done differently might have been to "round off" the nacelles a bit)

I'll be working on the textures a little at a time, as I hurt my back again and it hurts to sit for long periods of time. I'll post some pics tonight of what I have so far. :thumbsup:

We have those here too, but, I use a heating every night and my back is burned, discolored, etc., plus heat doesn't really do anything for it anymore...gotten to the point where Vicodin 750's barely make a dent in the pain. :( But, I'm ahead of the game, as I was told when I was 20 I stood a good chance of being in a wheel chair by the time I'm 35...just turned 36 so... :)

Pretty damn good so far.  That's a phaser array on the saucer, right?  With the registry you gave the ship, you could probably give her a history something like she was chosen to test the new phaser technology that would eventually be used on the Ambassador and all other ships after her.  Just a thought.

Maybe smaller ones like the Ambassador, or you could do what Fallen_Warrior said, but then I think you would have to change the registry, unless you redo the background of this ship to account for it's registry and the weapons it carries.  Know what I mean?

yeah i know how it feels to always have pain in the spine, that could bring you down for weeks

you should use smaler phaser arrays if its for the Ambassador era but i think one big array like on the TNG Galaxy looks better than some smal

Just a quick update...

Trying to get a little more done on her but slow going....went to Dr. and seems I have a herniated disk in my lower back, which makes it hurt to sit, stand laydown...you name it it hurts. :( I'll [post new pics soon I promise. :)
