Title: Does anyone think this makes sense?
Post by: Starforce2 on September 05, 2004, 10:57:22 pm
A few days ago I downloaded jeff wallace's Manta raider retextured as a romulan battle  tug. I want to turn it into a romulan carrier. I want it to launch full sizzed romulan talon scout  models as attack ships. These ar 89m long by 74 (give or take .5m) wide if I use cleeve's proportions.   This would make the mant 590m long, and able  to fit atleast 3 to 4  in each wing along with some smaller ships, which I plan to use activisions romulan repair ship model for, and likely sizing them between 25-40m in length.

This is how the talon looks partially inserted into one of the tugs lower bays. Looks as if 3-4 talons would indeed fit with room to spare for a few smaller craft.

Hey that's a GREAT idea Starforce2!

BTW: If you slide the Manta/Whipoorwill into the RFAS slot in Firesoul's OP+ 3.4 shiplist you get it resized within the ballpark you are shooting for.

Qapla!

the only thing  I'd  need  is the baffles removed from acrossed the cargo  doors. I think the ship was originaly designed to be much smaller and have 3 decks in each bay for shuttles.

sounds a bit ott as a warship, 4 frigates plus auxilaries, mesh looks good though.

The area of the ship you are talking about was actually intended to be a vectored impulse thing. the three horizontal details are vectoring veins. The original idea was that the ship has the shuttle bays forward on each side of the command section. I haveen't seen that one for quite a while.
