Star Trek debuts on NBC, with the airing of an episode titled "The Man Trap."
Thank you Mr. Gene Roddenberry! You have given me several years of enjoyment and hope for my children! And you have opened my young mind to the possiblities of what could be out there beyond Earth. May our hopes and dreams live on!

Star Trek touched everyone here or we wouldn't have been a community for, God, almost 6 years now.
Certianly, even as a work of fiction, it has impacted my life more than some works of fact. No matter what I see to make me think to the contrary, Trek shows us that there is hope for something great, if only we can all find it.
Happy Birthday, Trek.

I was in second grade...
... and I was initially SCARED of Star Trek. Well, that quickly ended; my parents had to pry me off the set whenever it was on for dinner, etc. Now, I'm scared of Paramount.

Happy B'Day Star Trek.
What attracted me to Star Trek initially? Yoeman Rand's short skirt...and, of course, green animal women. :o ;D
