If somebody needed 5k laptops that wouldn't be a bad deal. I wonder what shipping is though.
-
Ouch! My fingers started to burn when they got too close to my monitor.
Wonder what truck they "fell" off of?
-
Of course the biggest problem is, they're Dells.

Honestly, imho, dell or gateway is the way to go for the "average" computer user. The ex got a dell dirt cheap, does what she wants it to do (e-mail, video/pics, word and excel). That type of user doesn't worry about upgrades or how much vid ram or having surround sound. Just a tool to do the job, plus they do have a good rep for support.
Would I buy one? No. Too much proprietary crap, too much pre-installed software I just end up deleting.
Bought a Toshiba laptop because I needed one at the time. Not impressed by the performance or all the crap I had to delete, but in the end it served it's function. Now that I've built my own system it collects a lot of dust...
But I'd take a dell over a hp or compaq any day.

Funny You should Mention that, ravok had called me the other Night interested in one Of Gateways Gameing Machines. I didn't know IF Gate way had went Proprietary or not. anyone Know?

We bought 24 Dell Desktop's 2 years ago. 22 of them configured almost identically. The only differences being monitors, 9 had Flat Screens, the balance had CRT's, and the 9 with flat screens had no floppy or CD's.
Out of those 9 with flats, in the last month I have had 5 monitors go out. Out of those same 9 I have had 14 hard drives crash. I have also lost 3 power supplies and two mother boards.
My General Manager had a world of problems with a Dell Laptop he bought for his daughter. Between all the problems I had, and the problems he has had. I know the only thing to put as backup documentation on a purchase req that lists Dell computers is my resignation.
Cause my ass would be grass.

unless you have a shop other wise i don't see anyone buy 5000 computer plus the shipping, so what warranty does he offfer on them and as a seller he should have and ebay insurance cause i woill not lose US $3,750,000.00 to anyone, well at that prise it will bether to go there and get them your self so you wont get screw, as honest has he might be i don't trust ebay anymore, the purchase protection or the paypal protection is just a fraude, i don't see any proof that my purchase is protected or not, he/she can close the acount on ebay and you lose your money. :police:

Love to, but do you know how many canadian peso's one of them things costs?
The market for beaver pelts is way down, I'd have to wipe out the whole population! ;)
Of course, there is that home-grow op thing that seems so popular around these parts....

You're going to have problems with at least 1 out of 5 of any manufacturer's computers; Dell, Gateway, Compaq, eMachines, it does not matter. These types of complaints about specific manufacturers mean nothing.
I own 4 Dells, 3 desktops and one laptop. The only problem I've had is the battery on the laptop finally died after 2 years and 3 months of usage (dell laptop batts are only rated for 12 months). When I did tech support for Dell, I heard no end of problems from customers about problems with Dell. The year I got taken off the floor they were expecting 14 million calls ... out of more than 150 million units sold.
IMO, that's pretty darn good for any electronic equipment manufacturer.
