I just reinstalled OP and applied the 2552 patch. I have not made a single modification to anything yet. I haven't even copied over the models. In single player mode the admin shuttles are not launching. The UI puts shuttles in the active box, and the launching sound effect plays, but no shuttles show up on screen, and they will do nothing, not even return. Special shuttles, like decoys, work just fine, as do fighters. But regular shuttles seem to vanish upon launch, even though the UI lists them as active. Does anyone know what's going on, and how to fix it?

Try reinstalling it again.MAke sure that what you observed really happens,As it is not a known Phenomenon.

This is already a second installation. I've had computer troubles over the Summer, and have only had a stable system for a few weeks. Last week I reinstalled OP, used the latest patch I had, which was 25412, and started modding away. I just discovered the shuttle problem this weekend, and so I uninstalled the game, searched for the latest patch, and today reinstalled. The first thing I did was spend about a half hour playing skirmish missions and trying to launch shuttles. They wouldn't work for any race or any mission (in skirmish mode, I haven't tried campaigns yet).

1. Ignore Age.
2. Are you using the shortcut to starfleetOP.exe to skip the intro movie? If you are, have you put the location of the OP directory into the Start In entry? Try this with the basic game patched to 2.5.5.2 only, before you do any mods.
I know that you can have this problem with fighters and I think it also happens with shuttles too.

maybe the shuttle mod are missing or the link for the shuttle is not ok, i have no real problem whit shuttle or fighter so maybe the just don't want to get kill, that's why the wont leave shuttle bay ;D

That fixed it. I had left the Start In field empty when I changed the icon's target. I don't understand why that would make the program work differently, but it evidently did.
Thank You!

Actually the first point was the was important. I have no idea where he gets his rubbish from.
As for why you have to enter the start in directory, when you skip the intro movie you skip the part of the program which sets up the working directory. So you have to do it manually, that's all. Glad it sorted you out. You can now go for your life adding mods etc.
