Lycos Europe has started to distribute a special screensaver in a controversial bid to battle spam. The program - titled Make Love Not Spam, and available for Windows and the Mac OS - sends a request to view a spam source site. When a large number of screensavers send their requests at the same time the spam web page becomes overloaded and slow.
Much as I dislike spammers I am not sure that this is the correct way to handle it. Hitting even one person wrongly could do much financial harm.

I noticed that the spam e-mails I get are usually from a personal e-mail, and I would think that the owner of the account, as computer illiterate as most of us, would have no idea that they were being used for such.

They become aware as soon as they receive 400 'User Does Not Exist' bounced Emails....

Personally i think its a punishment that suits the crime. I'm fed up with this and spy ware. The Govt cant or won't do anything about it so it up to us to show these maggots our displeasure. ;D
