Title: A little OT but someone on here should know.......

Can anyone help me this.....  I need a decent carbon fibre texture plus something that vaguely resembles titanium... I've had a scour round t'internet and not really found much....

Can any of you chaps point me in a useful direction....

wouldn't even know where to start to find one.  your best bet are to find a crap load of reference pics and make'em

It'll take you a bit of sifting, but:

Hit the '3dTextures' bit int he lower right, and it'll open a java window with a huge swack of textures. The format is French/Englis, so it's a bit cumbersome, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the list you'll find a couple of entries 'Tissus/Fabrics', each has a set of cloth textures available. 'Misc' shoudl be your best bet. You should be able to get away with adjusting the colour on a regular fabric-like texture, since carbon-fibre materials can look like regular fabrics if the fibres are running close enough to the surface of the material.

You'll also find a swack of metals, something titanium-like should be there...
