i was wondering if 3D max studio 7 have the extention for sfc's or not?, just dont want to download it for nothing.
-
erm, well..
onsider that the SFC2 plugin for 3dsmax was made for 3dsmax rev4, and happens to be compatible for rev5. There's a STRONG change that it'll never work with rev7, sorry.
-
ok, so i will need 3D max 4 or 5 so i can use it for sfc model right?
-
3DS Max 5 is what I have and I can import and export models into .mod format quite easily, so either version 4 or 5 would be your best bet. Either one, I assume, is just as good.

what is 3D mark?

If someone wants to give me a link to a file I'll test this on Max 7 for you.

Ah no - I meant a link to the model. :D
I have a fully licensed copy of max 7 sitting on my 'puter.

A model that I can test the SFC2 plugin with Max 7 for you. I suppose I should ask for the location of the SFC2 plugin as well!!

The best thing is I convinced the accounting guys it was better to sign up to the subscription package each year for £250. That way if another Max is launched within that years subscription I (my work) don't have to pay a penny more!!
Plus with the subscription package you get any interim releases for Max early, that you would only otherwise get in the next version. I believe I got an email from them the other day about a brand new cloth extension ready for download in the new year. Should be interesting.

Okay - I've checked this out with Max 7 and the plugin fails to load/initialise.
I guess you'll need to get a licence for R4 or R3 to use this - if they're still available?
