Title: OT: 3ds Max Help Needed
Post by: FoaS_XC on January 09, 2005, 02:58:42 pm
FOr my web comic, ive been trying to find an easy way to build sets.

Now what ive done thus far is ive build a bunch of 3m by 3m tiles that are interchangable of Floors, walls, doorways, etc. But here is my issues, i dont know how i can go about easily getting them together, I dont want to clone and move, clone and move, clone and move, etc.

For those of you who have ever played Neverwinter Nights or Starcraft there is a program in which you can "paint" terrain. select the thing that you want in the menu, and you can paint those objects in a grid work....now, what i am wondering is, is there a way i can do this in 3ds Max?, or is there a program that i can import a bunch of tiles, do that, and export it back?

When you copy the tile you get an option box, if you select the middle one, the texture you create on one tile will be coppied to the others... you can make sets of tiles etc... hope this help... if not im sorry  ;)
