I haven't been able to "see" the server on the Campaign selector - but I see the other servers. I uniinstalled and installed a fresh SGO4 Installer. Argh! Ideas? What simple thing am I missing? This didn't happen on the test server.

It may not be up at this moment. Sorry we are late, there was a mistake that we needed to fix. Bonk is about to finish his tech part of it and it will start in a min.

Farfarer couldn't see the server when we were all on it earlier. Really weird.

Hrmmm... Bonk is making me look bad, lol. J'inn just logged unto the server by accident and screwed it all up. Thanks J'inn. :P So it will be around 5 more mins. Sorry guys.

I must be blind, is there an installer pack that will do everything in one swipe? Please let me know as it has been AGES since i played or downloaded these packs.

It is all in the top posts. WON server update installer, then an SGO4 Installer. Note you need to have OP+ shiplist 4 as weell ( a big DL).

I havent been able to join the Slave Girl IV Server as i get a message that i dont have a necessary file :dbmaint.scr ???
I have OP fresh installation +2552 + 4.0 + SGO4(the last one)
Is anyone that can help?

shiplist only is 760something K, with models is something like 40+ megs. If you want to get on the server quick, get the no-models version.
And Butcher, the dbmaint file is an indication they're doing DB maintanance.

If you get that message it just means the server is locked out for Admin. Maintenance. Just wait a while.

No one can log in during the db clean. That message will go away once the clean is complete

OK heres how it is:
The serverkit must have AI enabled or it is guaranteed to crash periodically. It must be able to create AI error free in all eras and times. This shiplist does not comply in some way (not sure at this point where). It did not appear in testing as it was requested that we test in late so we can see all the ships. When I start the server at the normal time and run up the clock to the starting point plenty of errors are generated in AI creation. I tried to fix this with YFAs and starting BPVs for the clock run up serverside but to no avail. we'll just have to run with it with the errors (should still run OK judging by precedent (haven't seen it on my servers) - db may swell faster requiring more frequent cleaning). I guess we should have gotten the clock run up tested too, but we rushed... I apologise profusely...

OK, its up, hopefully we'll be OK. Again, apologies for the inconvenience.
(oops stopped the clock-run ip a year too early - back up in 2271 now... this whole clock-run up thing is new to me, I always just use the kit default start time options and test from there and never have any time related problems... apologies again... :smackhead:)
