Title: SG4 Trouble with Tribbles - crashes
Post by: Dizzy on January 23, 2005, 07:59:16 am
AI generation was turned on for this server. It doesnt seem to work well, lol. The server is trying to keep track of both the AI we generate thru missions and those the server randomly generates. This is obviously too much for the server to handle, hence the frequent crashes.

Once Bonk gets online, I'll discuss this with him and fix this. It is unacceptable and DB cleans to wipe the AI just wont keep up with how they multiple like tribbles. This is what id causing the crashes and I will fix it. Grrrrrr!

My apologies,
will fix,
Diz

AI generation has been turned off since we rewound the clock. (the second or third start)

To modders: When designing a shiplist - please make sure that the shiplist works with the serverkit on all stardates for all races or the serverkit will do this. (I learned the hard way - took me 2 years to get SFB-OP to run error free on a D2 server :P)

There is still AI all over the map, and it still appears to be being generated.

Again -if Bonk thinks that advancing the year to a 2273 start will fix all the issues
wouldn't it be easier to just do that?

Dizzy, thank you and Bonk for setting this up. It has been fun and once we get these server problems fixed it should be a blast. I really like the combined Lyran/Klingon shiplist. I can fight and talk with the Klingons and resupply in their hexes. I think all of the races should do this, but I understand the shiplist would get messy to say the least.
