Ok i was told to come here for some help, i just installed SFC OP after not playing for awhile, and now everyone is playing with mods and stuff. so, i need some help/advice/instructions because im a noob now. any help would be cool thanks.

Well, if you have a fresh install, I would recommend getting the v3.0 enhancement pack stickied at the top of these forums. It's a large download, but it gives you all the things you need in one tidy package. ;)
Individual campaigns will sometimes require additional, but much smaller, downloads.

i wanna play online dynaverse with the most # of ppl playing on it, so enchancement v 3.0 i should get?

yes get the version 3.0, install it, then you need to get the downloads for SGO4 which is the server everyone is playing right now. Just check the SlaveGirlsofOrion4 server rules/info forum for the necessary mission and shiplist download. Have Fun!

Included in that D/L is everything you need to play online in GSA. Try and read the whole post. Full of good stuff.

and D/L that installer and install it. Then use Pesty's mod chooser. Its all in the 1st link there...
Anyway, if u are on Dial up, Ill have to make a seperate post.

EDIT : ok so i downloaded the enchancement thing, i install it, then i downloaded SGO4. i try to install SGO4 and it says i dont have OP + 4.0. so, what did i do wrong?

To play on the current Dynaverse server "SGO4" (short version):
1) Clean install from CD
2) Patch to 2552 - 2500-2552 Patch ([url]http://www.dynaverse.net/go.php?id=23&source=downloads[/url])
3) Install OP+4.0 (all options): [url]ftp://klingon.stasis.ca/pub/sfcop/opplus_40_models.exe[/url]
4) Install the SGO4 Mod ([url]http://members.lycos.co.uk/astinky/SGO4/[/url]) (first link on that page is the current full installer)
5) Totally disable all software firewalls and anti-virus software (while playing)
6) Login
(you may find EzINI ([url]http://www.khoromag.org/taldren/setup-ezini.exe[/url]) handy too - to set game resolution etc...)
P.S. you'll need a Gamespy (http://www.gamespyarcade.com/) account to login on.

Well currently, you can use the FTP links to download the OP Enhancement Pack v3.0
Follow the install instructions exactly as posted in the OP Enhancement 3.0 thread stickied at the top of the D2 Forums
The Dos Window that pops up after OP Enhancement Install is extremely important to follow instruction in. It is what OP Enhancement uses to get all components to install correctly.
During the install process, OP + will install.. but you have to follow the Dos Window Instructions..
Also During the Install Process, a program called Mod Chooser will install and then launch.. sometimes it will act as if stuck.. Ignore this effect and allow it to finish, it is backing up your game files prior to everything else being installed...
after Mod Chooser finishes, just close it and go back to the Dos Window.. and follow instructions..
After OP + installs, Mod Chooser will install again.. after giving OP + a name and a slot, just exit the installer to stay in the OP + mode.. do not change to Taldren.
After you finish installing everything from the Dos Window (which will give you a notice when everything is finished installing), you can then Download and install SGO4 .. after it installs, launch Mod Chooser from Desktop and give a new name and assign to an empty slot..
After this you should be able to log on to the Dynaverse and the SGO 4 server... to go back to OP + mode or Taldren Stock mode, just launch Mod Chooser and select the other mode.. Vica Versa to go back to SGO 4 mode...
Also in the OP Enhancement Readme file, it details how to upgrade and / or remove a Mod mode from Mod Chooser...
