Hi all....
This has to rank as one of the smallest contributions I have ever done... And as my head is "cabbaged" with larger projects I thought I would do something a little different.... So I made a replacement drone, fashioned after the biggest AAM that the West has to offer, in fact it looks the same... Feel free to replace the existing drone (folder "missile" in your assets folder) but be aware that this is now 112 polys instead of 30 and uses a 256 res bitmap instead of a 128 one, so Kzinti drone swarms could prove interesting!! Anyway, to prove it works there's a screen shot and I think you'll agree it looks a little different....

Where this is concerned though I've already amended the .mod file (for those who are interested) and moved it back a bit... I realised looking at the screenie I posted that the actual missile model wasn't centred so the contrails look odd... It's now centred (ish) and should look better....

By the way, some of us are hoping that you will give permission to put your previous Chandley models up for download on Battle Clinic. We need something to passify us until your next masterpieces appear. Would you mind?

Silly question, but is there a way to specify separate missiles for each race? Love to have this for the Feds, but I think it might look just a tad silly firing from a Klingon or Romulan ship... ;)

No,
It would have to be converted for it, the light map channels will cause havoc with SFC 1. Will work in EAW and OP.

Not that it would matter anyway since SFC1 doesn't have a drone model that can be accessed. It's really just a little gray cone that's generated by the game.

Outstanding using them on SGO4 and they look awesome (especially when the F18's kick so many out ;D :thumbsup:). Idea for the missile headcases amongst us what about Tomahawk Cruise Missiles?

Well oddly enough when I was mulling over this I did consider that. Strictly speaking, it really ought to be an anti-ship missile like a Tomahawk or Harpoon or even an Exocet and not an air-to-air missile. When you look at those options though, the Exocet is too plain and the Tomahawk is just butt ugly. So that leaves the Harpoon, which looks good but not as good as a Phoenix.. ;D ;D ;D ;D
So the end result is that although the Harpoon would've been more relevant, the Phoenix just looks hella cool...
I cant believe I just said "hella cool"..... *smacks forehead*

Its a cool looking missile, and if you had made an Exocet (iam a brit) I would of flamed you too the best of my abilities. However I digress alternatives to Pheonix.
1. Amraam.
2. Sea Skua (old brit missile - ssm).
3. Sea Eagle (brit equivalent too harpoon).
4. Sparrow, isnt this in the aegis arsenal.
5. Kormorant, european ssm.
Just think though that in op you could be shooting cruise missiles ;D
